This policy explains what personal data Future Operator ("we", "us") collects when you use this website and sign up for The Operator's Map, how we use it, and the rights you have. We are the data controller: Future Operator. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@futureoperator.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you submit it to receive The Operator's Map and our emails.
- Basic usage and attribution data - such as the page you came from, campaign parameters (UTM tags), approximate location and device/browser information.
- Cookies and similar technologies used for advertising and measurement (see "Cookies and advertising" below).
How and why we use it
- To send you The Operator's Map and related emails about building AI systems in your business. Lawful basis: your consent. You can withdraw it anytime by unsubscribing (a link is in every email).
- To measure and improve our marketing, including which ads lead to sign-ups. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in understanding and improving our site and advertising. Where local law requires consent for advertising or analytics cookies, we will ask for it before setting them.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to comply with our legal obligations.
Cookies and advertising
We use Google Analytics and Google Ads to run and measure advertising. These set cookies to attribute conversions and measure performance. You can opt out by adjusting your browser cookie settings, through Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or via your device's ad controls. Where local law requires your prior consent (for example in the UK and EEA), we will show a cookie banner and only set these cookies after you accept.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf:
- Beehiiv - our email platform, which stores your email and sends our emails. See beehiiv's privacy policy.
- Google - for advertising and analytics (Google Ads, Google Analytics).
- Vercel - our hosting provider, which serves this website.
International transfers
Some of these providers are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (such as the UK/EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses).
How long we keep it
We keep your email for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our active list (some records may be retained briefly where required by law).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@futureoperator.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
